Nutcracker Update: Sunday, Nov 30th Rehearsal, Costume Fitting and DressRehearsal/Show Day Info (Note: Change to Soldiers' Hair as of 11/30)

There will be a Nutcracker Rehearsal on Sunday, November 30th at 4 p.m. at NDA.

Also, look for more information as we near the dates, but:

- Friday, December 5th: Costume Fitting at GSR. Time TBD (but very likely to be around 3:30 pm). Dancers can wear their class leotards, tights and shoes.

Don't forget to give them a good carbo-load dinner (pasta!).

- Saturday, December 6th: Dress Rehearsal usually about 10 a.m. and it will go all day. Call time: TBD.

Make-up and Hair
All dancers will need their own eyeliner, bright red lipstick and lots of hairpins for mice head/soldier hat placement. False eyelashes will not be used. Diane will put the make-up on the dancers as well as blush.

Ms. Diane will also tell parents on Friday, during costume fitting, how high or low to place hair buns on mice. (CHANGE on 11/30/2014) Soldiers and Mice will need a top-of-the-head bun (about 2 finger-widths from their hairline) due to the hat.

Feeding Your Dancer
Make sure your dancers eat a high protein breakfast -- eggs, toast, bacon. This meal has to see them through until dinner. Pack granola bars (or non messy snacks) and small bottles of water for them to snack on backstage.

Also, for the dinner break please stay within GSR. We've had delays because of bad weather and dancers returning late for show time!

Picking Up Your Dancer
The mice will have a chance to watch Act II from a booth in the back of the GSR. Look for Lindsay, who will be checking dancers in/out. If you'd like to have your child sit with you during Act II, be sure to check them out with Lindsay first!

- Sunday, December 7th: Matinee Performance, call time TBD.
